Way to go.

How we can solve the environmental problem created by us and our ancestors? Most of us do know the answer to this but how many of us follow them. We should make it a lifestyle. Environmentalism will be what we have to incorporate in our life. I think going green is really cool. Just we have change few habits in our daily life and bingo we will be reducing a lot of carbon from atmosphere each day each minute. If you have started then don’t think yourself to be alone. That’s what I used to think before. But there are lots of people just like us. Perhaps our number is less. But we are still stronger than the majority. Because we can accept change but they can’t, a change which could be for the betterment of our tomorrow. I tell you all that one day will surely come when we will adjust ourselves to the new world very well but the so called majority they will never be able to do that.
So there we come to end now. I am leaving you with few tips. And thanks for visiting. Do come again. Do tell me about any green stuff you know.
· Use both sides of paper and after use reuse it. Recycle paper and try not to use plastic. Try to make compost of paper instead of burning them.
· Save electricity switch off fans, lights, and other electrical appliances when not in use. Try to use electricity as less as possible. Use more efficient appliances, like CFLs.
· Do not use stand by option. Leaving appliances on standby accounts for up to 75% of power in total power consumption.
· Use bicycle instead of motorised means of transport. Use car-pools and other means of public transport instead of public transport.
· Protect trees and plants from being cut. Plant trees and saplings in your locality.
· Protect animals from being hunted.
· Try to help other save environment. Try to make people aware of the global problems. Try to talk with people about environment. Know something which is unknown to you and make them know which is unknown to them.
· Participate in any other environmental movement if you can. Help any person working individually for saving the environment.
· Avoid products with a lot of packaging. Do not use any product which uses plastic to pack food or other stuff. This will put pressure on manufactures to make recyclable packaging. And recycle as much as you can.
· Use less water, to discharge lees sewage. Think of the polluted river, every time you flush.
· Don not first adopt wasteful and environmentally bad habits and then become green. Do not first buy processed food and then ask for organic and home-made food. Do not first eat junk food and then go on a diet. Enjoy biodiversity in food and life style. Shun Mc World
· Use less of everything that you use in your daily life. Not greed of some, but need of all is the only way ahead.

Together we can

I liked the idea given by Sulakshana. Why should we all work separately and not together? After all, all of ours projects are related to climate change. We are just tackling it through different fronts. Someone is working for green building, someone in climate finance, someone in awareness etc. But my project has got best of all the worlds. So surely need the help of all you guys out there. But then the one of our Martian Mr. Raghav’s worry is very correct. What I think we should do is we should simply write about what we are doing and let the help flow in. All the things which Raghav says are true and practical. But then we have to make our project impactful. And this work cannot be done alone for sure. So we should focus our energy at not more than ten projects at a time. But surely we can pass suggestions and all to others. For example we in East Zone more precisely ICCs in and around Kolkata have 4 waste management projects so we are doing it together. I also have a waste managemen...

UnIndianing India

Today our Republic turns 70years. In these year we have raised ourselves from ashes of partition and hate, braved conflicts internal and external. Yet we have carried on as a republic for so long, because we stayed true to the ideals of our founding fathers. The ideas that shaped our struggle against a colonist, against the communalists. But very often did our republic find itself at the verge and it seemed the dreams that freedom fighters saw for our free nation might be too much. Last few months if not years have been like that as well. When we seem to be turning our backs to the principles that defined our country. Principles of unity in diversity. Where so many people from so many different part regions, religions speak so many languages, can live and thrive together. Where different ideas from anywhere is not frowned upon. Where one does not have to fear to speak his/her minds out. Where people from different places and religions were welcomed not just as guests but as God...
