How long we are going to sleep?

Last day world celebrated Earth day. We speak a lot we ask everyone to do a lot. But in reality we just do nothing at all. This year I spent the worst Earth Day ever in my life. Half of the day there was no electricity and half of the day there was no water. And most importantly there was grief of losing a very good friend. Rimili she was such a good person. She was not so attractive. That was the reason lot of my friends avoided her. But she never ever behaved badly with us. She was always good to all of us. She won us all with her love. But now when she could have seen the good days she went to God’s Own Place. Where ever she must have gone people must be very lucky.
But I am just feeling that I am responsible for her death. We all are responsible for her death. How long are we gonna sleep and have ridiculous dreams about how better live are we getting. I ask you have our parents lived better lives than us or not? I think their lives were not so dependent on some few. They were independent. Today we have ACs, Computers etc but neither can work without electricity. We are so dependent not on these resources but on our selfish dreams to be the king of the world. We are not the king of this world and never could we becoming that. Faster we realise it better it is for us to live on this planet.
I really don’t want to give another lecture on environmental conservation. We all know it what can happen and how can we stop it but how many of us do that. We don’t have time. So put the words into action. Or you would be the one who will write same thing when one your friend is gonna die.

Together we can

I liked the idea given by Sulakshana. Why should we all work separately and not together? After all, all of ours projects are related to climate change. We are just tackling it through different fronts. Someone is working for green building, someone in climate finance, someone in awareness etc. But my project has got best of all the worlds. So surely need the help of all you guys out there. But then the one of our Martian Mr. Raghav’s worry is very correct. What I think we should do is we should simply write about what we are doing and let the help flow in. All the things which Raghav says are true and practical. But then we have to make our project impactful. And this work cannot be done alone for sure. So we should focus our energy at not more than ten projects at a time. But surely we can pass suggestions and all to others. For example we in East Zone more precisely ICCs in and around Kolkata have 4 waste management projects so we are doing it together. I also have a waste managemen...

UnIndianing India

Today our Republic turns 70years. In these year we have raised ourselves from ashes of partition and hate, braved conflicts internal and external. Yet we have carried on as a republic for so long, because we stayed true to the ideals of our founding fathers. The ideas that shaped our struggle against a colonist, against the communalists. But very often did our republic find itself at the verge and it seemed the dreams that freedom fighters saw for our free nation might be too much. Last few months if not years have been like that as well. When we seem to be turning our backs to the principles that defined our country. Principles of unity in diversity. Where so many people from so many different part regions, religions speak so many languages, can live and thrive together. Where different ideas from anywhere is not frowned upon. Where one does not have to fear to speak his/her minds out. Where people from different places and religions were welcomed not just as guests but as God...
