NSS “Special” Camp

After a long long wait came the special camp of our NSS unit. When we first read all the manuals and heard the briefing at the workshop from MR sir. Everyone was very nervous and thought the this is gonna be very tough job but thanks to our seniors it was lot less painful experience.
I was made the team leader of team A and we were the best of all. We did the most number of survey and also gave PO a critical summary of the whole matter which was very helpful to him. We first divided our team into two groups. That is why we covered much more ground than others. In my group I must say that Lipika was the most hard working and most talkative. And Ismial or “E Smile” was our marker. We really did a great job. Guys thanks a lot.
Then the last day of our camp Princi came so the journo ma'am too but when Chemistry sir (I don't know his name) came all the girl went mad every one was taking his photo graphs. Now Lipika asked Princi how to become Princi. What a question ain't it? But our sir is great he ate and told how to be one and what he does in the whole day apart from running here and there.
Then we all went to the small beach or river bank. The construction work for the bridge is going on there so there were a lot of restricted areas. We took a lot of photographs out there I have posted them. Then we went to the station wind was blowing so good it awesome the our PO BB sir gave us all a book by Ravindranath Tagore. But few of us like me Pallavi di and Ashish da to name a few could not read Bengali still it took it. I got Shesher Kobita. Then the climax the Abdul comes and says to Rinki something something. Not good for sure cos she started to cry. She is a great and Abdul is a big loser. Whatever did managed to get it all right at the end. Every one saying this or that to Ab. But at the end all went to home happily.

UnIndianing India

Today our Republic turns 70years. In these year we have raised ourselves from ashes of partition and hate, braved conflicts internal and external. Yet we have carried on as a republic for so long, because we stayed true to the ideals of our founding fathers. The ideas that shaped our struggle against a colonist, against the communalists. But very often did our republic find itself at the verge and it seemed the dreams that freedom fighters saw for our free nation might be too much. Last few months if not years have been like that as well. When we seem to be turning our backs to the principles that defined our country. Principles of unity in diversity. Where so many people from so many different part regions, religions speak so many languages, can live and thrive together. Where different ideas from anywhere is not frowned upon. Where one does not have to fear to speak his/her minds out. Where people from different places and religions were welcomed not just as guests but as God...
